Yesterday we decided to skip church and spend a family day together at the snow. We headed up to Mt Donna Buang (which is just under and hour away for us) and here are some piccies to show you the fun we had –
Monthly Archives: August 2008
This week I have won 2 prizes. I won the sketch challenge over at the Embellished Blog with this 6 x 12 layout.
I won a package from Tinkering Ink , so I’m looking forward to that arriving so I can see all of the goodies I have to play with. 🙂
I also won 3rd prize over at the Aussie Scrap Music Blog for the July Competition there with this layout.
I got to spend $10 at Scrapping Outback on some of their lovely chipboard products. I look forward to that arriving in the mail too.
I have completed my round 6 entry for Embellished Idol this week with this double layout-
Close up of details-
The challenge was to use only handmade embellishments, so I went to town lol. I had so much fun! We had to include metal, plastic and fabric.
Fabric – Owl & yoyo’s
Plastic – buttons, beads on pin
Metal – Wire music notes, wire arrow, staples, embossing foil, metal heart (also embossed), pin
Everything is handmade. I’ve made button mounds, fabric owl, wire music notes, wire arrow, vintage style pin, foam heart, fabric yo yos, other details cut from pp (owl, heart and Hoo? owl), air hardening clay letters (It’s), & embossed foil through my cuttlebug.
What a great Challenge. I just hope it’s good enough to get me through to the next round. There are only 8 rounds in the whole comp so I am pretty wrapped to have made it this far. It’s been a fun journey and I don’t think I’ve done so many layouts in such a short amount of time for quite a while (Shannon is probably getting sick of the mess on the kitchen table…hehehe).
Ok, catch yas xx
as promised…(just a quick post while I wait for the opening ceremony for the Olympics to begin) –
Tilly cutting her cake that Grandma (my mum) made
It was a doll cake covered in lollies with a pink skirt (of course lol) –

matilda with her Aunty Terri & Cousin Emily – Thank you so much for making the effort to come guys, we really appreciated it! xx
I’m off to Amy’s baby shower tomorrow. Until next time…hugs xx
Yay…I made it through to round 5!!! I got the 4th highest amount of votes out of 24 people too so thats pretty exciting. It’s nice to know that people like my work.
The new criteria is up for round 5. Here it is taken from the forum…
Your task is to scrap a “non-person” LO – sooooo there must be no people in the LO. This could be a LO on your dog, your fave coffee cup, a tree you love – that sort of thing.
You must have a frame somewhere on the LO, as well as a title and some journalling.
I will have to get the scrap bag out a little later this week as my Folks and Sister Peta (and nephew Mason) are down till tomorrow so I will get scrapping after that.
I’ll be back another day with pics from the party…which was a lovely success.
Just a short post to let you all know that I am so excited tgo have made it through to round 4 of Embellished Idol. The criteria for this week was that EVERYTHING on your Layout had to be stitched down. So I grabbed this challenge with both hands and here is my interpretation of the challenge…
All of those flowers are hand stitched. It was so much fun doing this challenge but it took SO long!!!!
You get 3 votes this week so perhaps you could also vote for Megan S (and another of your choice…see gallery here for choices) if you are unsure on how to ‘spend’ your votes.
Thanks for your support. xx
ps. Don’t forget voting closes 5pm on sunday AEST.
